This website is designed and maintained to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA, as published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative and referenced by the federal government.
What we do
- Every page uses semantic landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a skip-to-content link.
- Color contrast meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA minimums.
- All interactive elements are keyboard-operable with a visible focus indicator.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Content is structured with a logical heading order and meaningful link text.
- Automated accessibility, performance, and SEO audits run continuously and are published on our compliance dashboard.
Editor guardrails
Accessibility isn't a one-time fix. Village content editors work within a content management system that checks new content for accessibility as it's created — alt-text prompts, heading-order validation, and contrast warnings — so the site stays compliant as it grows.
